Solar heating on pools
Solar heating on outdoor public pools is very common. Its relatively cheap ($20,000 for Adaminaby as recently quoted by the preferred supplier). It takes little time to install (3-4 days), is largely maintenance free and has minimal running costs. It has much longer lifespan than gas or electric heating systems.

Lots of pools in the Snowy Monaro shire and adjacent Snowy Valleys shire have had solar heating installed, or are about to do so, by the same supplier. They have done hundreds of commercial installations across NSW and Australia, including in Katoomba, Wagga Wagga, Springwood, Maitland, Coonabarabran, and Leeton.

Because pools lose heat very fast, it's also really important to have a good pool cover.
