The annual Adaminaby Easter Fair is this year on Saturday 19 April and runs from 9am until about 3pm. This long-running and extremely popular event attracts more than 2,500 people from around the Snowy Mountains, Canberra, Tumut and south coast, with local community organisations such as the school Parents & Citizens group and the Country Women’s Association branch benefiting by fundraising on the day.
In 2025, the Adaminaby Easter Fair has been recognised with an Australia Day Award for its ongoing contribution to the social and economic fabric of the local region.
With a strong family and community focus, the Adaminaby Easter Fair features numerous fun activities throughout the day such as a cupcake-decorating competition for the kids, a (plastic!) trout tossing competition, dog high jump, wood auction, Easter Bunny visit with chocolate eggs to hand out, and a large number of market stalls. The Adaminaby Rural Fire Service is on-hand to provide a first aid service and also conducts vital community outreach.
There's food and coffee available and this year there is a new 'chill-out zone' in the Village Green area, where people can enjoy their drinks and food on a chair or on the grass.
The highlight event of the day is the ‘Wacky Quacky Duck Race’ at approximately 2.30pm, when 1,600 plastic ducks (purchased by members of the public for $3 dollars each) are raced through the town’s stormwater channel, with a prize pool of $1,500 up for grabs!
See you there!
